Miriam Onuoha Quotes (0-)

“I absolutely stand a strong chance now. It is becoming more difficult to win elections in Nigeria and worse for women.”

“I am also in the race for the Speaker of the House of Representatives knowing that a presiding office position would help to address the lingering gender deficit at the National Assembly.”

“With a heavy heart, I rise to mourn some of my constituents who died on the way while coming to witness this inauguration. May God accepts their souls. Having said that, I rise to vote for RT Honourable Tajudeen  Abbas for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”

“My inspiration is drawn from the fact that I have offered myself to give a sound legislative service to the nation, starting with the 10th Assembly, as I have stated in my seven-point agenda. I am confident that my colleagues have reposed a lot of confidence in me and I have proven my competence and credibility by my engagement and interaction with other members. We are drawing closer to history to be made again for another woman, in myself, to be made the speaker of the House of Representatives. Just like our democracy is evolving.”
