Responding to concerns about port slowdowns and job losses, Donald Trump bizarrely claimed it meant the U.S. was "losing less money," advocating for decreased trade with China.
“(U.S. ports slowing down) means we lose less money, you know? When I see that, that means we lose less money…. And frankly if we didn’t do business (with China), we would have been better off. So, when you say it slowed down, that’s a good thing, not a bad thing.”
Amidst a press conference highlighting both achievements and a tragedy in Texas, Attorney General Pam Bondi expressed disbelief at being questioned about Jeffrey Epstein.
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years…. Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable. I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, when we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas. It just seems like a desecration.”
Speaking in September 2025, Donald Trump expresses qualified support for vaccines, acknowledging the effectiveness of some while seemingly referencing conspiracy theories about COVID-19.
“Look, you have some vaccines that are so amazing, the polio vaccine I happen to think is amazing. A lot of people think that Covid is amazing. You know there are many people that believe strongly in that. But you have some vaccines that are so incredible, and I think you have to be very careful when you say that some people don't have to be vaccinated. It's a very, you know, it's a very tough position, so I'll give you an answer. I'll give you the feeling, but just initially I heard about it yesterday and it's a tough stance. Look, you have vaccines that work. They just pure and simple work. They're not controversial at all, and I think those vaccine should be used. Otherwise some people are going to catch it and they endanger other people, and when you don’t have controversy at all, I think people should take it.”
