Yitzhak Shamir (Hebrew יִצְחָק שָׁמִיר) (October 22, 1915 – June 30, 2012) was Prime Minister of Israel from 1983 to 1984 and again from 1986 to 1992. He was born Icchak Jaziernicki (Itzchak Izernitzki) in Różana, Poland (now Ruzhany, Belarus).
