Bernard Kerik, CBE (born September 4, 1955, in Newark, New Jersey) is an American law-enforcement officer. Kerik was Police Commissioner of the City of New York from 2000 to 2001. In December 2004, George W. Bush nominated Kerik as Secretary of Homeland Security.
